Overview of the role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Officer to join our contracts team, within the wider commercial department. The Commercial team supports the business to obtain any funding opportunities, enable work with businesses, and facilitate knowledge exchange and impact generating activity across Tokamak Energy Limited.

Contracts Officers contribute to contract preparation, negotiation, and review as part of their role. You will work alongside the Contract Manager in managing a growing portfolio of diverse contracts and relationships, concentrating on Non-Disclosure Agreements, Standard Terms and Conditions, Consultancy Agreements, Collaboration Agreements and Studentship Agreements, but with opportunities to support more complex projects as well.

This provides an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to the success of Tokamak Energy and the wider fusion sector.

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrable contract management experience, preferably in an in-house or commercial environment.
  • Maintain and manage Tokamak Energy’s contracts database.
  • The ability to think clearly and logically, with a keen eye for detail, in reviewing and producing contract documents to a high standard.
  • An ability to work under pressure, both individually and as part of a team.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in order to explain contract contents, to obtain relevant background information and to agree actions with colleagues.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of contract law.
  • A desire to succeed and make a positive contribution to Tokamak Energy.

 Requirements and attributes we value:

  • Commercial law experience, including demonstrable experience of contracts drafting and negotiation.
  • Experience of working on projects and contracts with a heavy emphasis on intellectual property rights.
  • You might have a legal background of have experience working in an in-house contracts team, but you will be used to working with contracts and negotiating with clients and/or suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
