Tokamak Energy recruitment process
We understand that it can be a daunting process if you are applying for a job and you don’t know what to expect. We have put together this simple guide to help you understand the hiring process when you apply for one of our jobs.
Apply
To apply for one of our opportunities, you will need to click through to the role you wish to apply for and then click on the ‘apply for this job’ bar at the bottom of the advert. This will re-direct you to our applicant tracking system Workable where you will be able to submit your application. You will be able to import your CV/resume and then will be required to complete a small number of screening questions. We strongly recommend you provide a cover note to support your application and highlight why you feel your skills and experience are suitable for the role that you are applying for and also highlight your motivations for applying.
Following your application submission, you should expect to hear from Tokamak Energy within a week of applying, except in exceptional cases when the volume of applications is very high, this may delay our response time.
What happens next
If shortlisted someone from our team of recruiting partners (via Bond) or a member of the Tokamak Energy HR team will contact you, either via phone or email.
Screening
You may be asked a number of screening questions and then if successful submitted through to the hiring manager for review. If the hiring manager agrees to progress your application, in most cases you will be invited to a first stage interview either virtually or face to face.
First stage
Your first stage interview will typically involve a number of competency-based questions tailored around Tokamak Energy’s values, this could take anything up to 1 hour. If successful, you will be invited to a final stage interview.
Final stage
Your final stage interview will typically involve more technical role related questions and may require you to complete additional assessments (ie a presentation). Ideally final stage interviews will take place on site and may also incorporate a tour. You should allow up to 1.5 hours for this stage.
The process can vary from role to role however our hiring teams will always ensure that every candidate is treated fairly and without discrimination.
Equality of opportunity
Entry into employment with the Tokamak Energy and progression within employment will be determined only by personal merit and the application of criteria which are related to the duties of each post and the relevant salary structure. In all cases, ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration. No applicant or member of staff shall be discriminated against because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
