Overview of the role
We are seeking a Multi-skilled Technician to assist with all aspects of Tokamak design, installation, commissioning and on-going works; the candidate will need to be a highly motivated team player requiring low supervision and have broad based engineering experience.
Main duties/role and responsibilities
- Involvement in specification and design of required equipment
- Mechanical fabrication and installation
- UHV Vacuum system installation
- General engineering support to Scientists and Engineers
Hazard-specific / Safety-critical duties
This job includes the following hazards or safety-critical activities:
- Working at heights
- Very occasional night working
- Lone Working
- Work in hot or cold environments
- Mechanical fitting
- Working from drawings
- Forklift licence
- Crane licence
- Rigging and sling
- Vacuum systems
- Welding, brazing, silver soldering
- 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
